Detox: What’s the big deal?

While adventuring through this whole life experience of being a “young adult,” I’ve now been approached by multiple people on the topic of detoxing. My best of friends, family members, co-workers, even a random person at the gym have mentioned or brought up this topic, so I had to ask myself after countless encounters on this topic;

I’ve watched people do the whole “fasting detox” where they don’t eat anything solid for three days to cleanse their bodies, but that is a bit too extreme for me. So after some research and whithin Kanwa Minerals, I have found the perfect blend between being “adolescent” and acting like and adult in the “world of detox.”

My first question What is considered detox?

“Detox” is simply another word for cleansing. It can increase the efficiency of the digestive system and stimulate other parts of the body responsible for cleaning and eliminating bacteria in the body. By doing detox, you are becoming less prone to infections and sustaining a stable healthy lifestyle.

What many of us don’t realize are the thousands of bacteria and toxins we are exposed to on a daily basis; from the air we breathe to the food and drink we consume. Every day we are exposed to new and stronger chemicals, and many of us are doing nothing about it.

What are the different ways to detox?

There are many ways to detox your body, but the top three I found most convenient for my lifestyle were the following:

1) Drinking more Water- Simply drinking three pints of water each day [that's roughly three glasses (or 3x16oz) of water] you are already helping flush out the toxins in your body.

2) Eating fresh- Eating fresh fruits and veggies with a high water content also helps cleanse. Not to mention eating less red meats and more chicken, fish and fruits.

3) Daily Detox Teas/Supplements- A lot of teas already on the market are natural Detox products. Kanwa Minerals’ Daily Detox Teas came to mind first. Does it really work?

Yes! After one week of eating fresh fruits, veggies, and lighter meats, everything seemed to work out for the better. I was sleeping soundly, my skin felt and looked healthier, and I felt so much healthier!

You can think of it as a domino effect! My skin looked and felt a lot cleaner. I felt it was less oily and softer every morning. I no longer felt  bloated after meals, and working out was much easier! Waking up was no longer a hassle, especially with the restful sleep I got! Because of all the essential vitamins and minerals my body was able to absorb, I was finally running at 100%.

To some of my colleagues this testimony may sound cheesy, but I truly do recommend detox to everyone, and the nice piece is everyone can detox. (Exceptions; children under age 18 don’t need detox, women who are breastfeeding should avoid detox.)
